Biography
Nalini Anantharaman is a professor at the IRMA Institute for Advanced Mathematical Research (CNRS/Université de Strasbourg).
After a thesis in mathematics defended in 2000, Nalini Anantharaman became a lecturer at ENS Lyon, then a research fellow at CNRS and a professor at Université Paris-Sud. She is currently a professor at the University of Strasbourg. Nalini Anantharaman's work lies at the interface between geometry, spectral theory, dynamical systems theory and mathematical physics: it seeks to describe how geometric properties of the environment (such as curvature or the existence of symmetries) influence the propagation of a wave and the associated frequency spectrum.
