On November 25, under the prestigious dome of the Institut de France, the Grand Prix scientifique franco-taïwanais was awarded to two outstanding researchers.

🔬 Gianni Liti, research director at CNRS (Nice Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging), studies population genomics through a model organism: yeast.
His work provides a better understanding of how genetic variations regulate complex traits, and sheds light on the evolutionary processes that shape natural populations over time.
Collectively, his research has profoundly enriched our knowledge of the origin, evolution and domestication of yeast.

🌱 Isheng Jason Tsai, professor and research director in evolutionary genomics at Academia Sinica (Taiwan), explores the diversity and evolution of fungi and yeasts in Asian ecosystems.
Integrating genomics, ecology and biogeography, he sheds light on the mechanisms of adaptation and coevolution uniting microorganisms and plants in Asian forests.

An edition rich in exchanges and discoveries, celebrating Franco-Taiwanese scientific excellence 🇫🇷🇹🇼
