Yves Bréchat et Anny Cazenave
Yves Bréchet, Scientific Director at Saint-Gobain (Paris), is honored for his contributions to physical metallurgy, mechanical deformation mechanisms and flux localization in structural materials, as well as to a better understanding of heterogeneous materials. Anny Cazenave, meanwhile, is director of research emeritus at CNES, at the Laboratoire d'études en géophysique et océanographie spatiales (CNES, CNRS, IRD, Université de Toulouse) and honored for her contributions and leading role in satellite altimetry.
The National Academy of Engineering is among the highest international honors in the field of engineering, recognizing personalities whose work has a major impact on research, innovation and society.
They join, in particular, Sébastien Candel, professor at CentraleSupélec, at the Laboratory of Molecular and Macroscopic Energetics, Combustion (Laboratoire EM2C-CNRS) already a member of the institution.
A very fine accolade for French science and engineering.
A very fine accolade indeed.
