Marie et Pierre Curie

Call for nominations: Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Pierre Curie Polish-French Scientific Award 2022

Deadline: February 28, 2022

The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) and the French Académie des sciences are pleased to announce the second edition of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Pierre Curie Polish-French Scientific Award taking place in 2022. The prize is financed jointly by the Zygmunt Zaleski Foundation and the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP).

The call for nominations is open from December 20th, 2021 until February 28th, 2022 at 4 pm. The results will be announced at the award ceremony in Paris, in autumn 2022.

The aim of the award is to emphasize the benefits of the scientific cooperation between French and Polish researchers. It will reward an outstanding pair of scientists for their joint research achievements and projects.

The selection of the laureates is carried out by a Polish-French jury established by the Foundation for Polish Science and the French Académie des sciences.

The prize consists of 15 000 euro for each of the two laureates, 5 000 euro as an individual prize and 10 000 euro as a grant for continuing the scientific cooperation (a report on the use of these funds to finance Polish-French cooperation will be requested).

The award is based on nominations, including self-nominations. All active members of the Polish and French scientific community can nominate a pair of candidates. The nominations can cover the entire spectrum of scientific research.

Each nomination shall refer jointly to both researchers (one working in Poland and one working in France, regardless of their nationality), having both at least a doctoral degree.

Nominations should contain the following:
• Acknowledgement of the joint scientific achievement(s) made by the two candidates thanks to French-Polish scientific cooperation as well as their future research projects (maximum 6000 characters)
• List of up to ten publications on topics related to their scientific cooperation
• Curricula vitae of both candidates
• One third party letter of support for the nominated pair of candidates; in case of self-nomination, two letters of support are required.

Nominations shall be submitted in English in electronic version via the FNP online database.
