Administrative structure

The administration of the Academy of Sciences is structured in the form of services placed under the authority of the two Permanent Secretaries (Secrétaires perpétuels) and coordinated by a Secretary-General.

The Academy also has two delegations. The Delegation for Scientific Information and Communication has the mission of raising the profile of the scientific activities and positions of the Academy together with its contributions to scientific life. The Delegation for International Relations is tasked with the implementation of the Academy's policy on international relations, as decided by the Bureau and discussed by the Committee for International Relations (CORI). The Delegation of Education has the mission of taking care of the quality of the teaching of sciences from the primary school (Hands On) to the higher degrees.

The President of the French Academy of Sciences is Jean Salençon.
The Vice-President is Alain Carpentier.
The Permanent Secretaries are Jean-François Bach and Jean Dercourt.
