In 2017, the French Académie des Sciences will award:

  • The IMT – Académie des Sciences Grand Prix of 30,000 euros.
    This annual prize, established by IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) in partnership with Fondation Télécom, is intended to reward a scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to one of the following fields through a recognized body of work: Sciences and technologies of the digital transformation in industry, Sciences and technologies of the energy transition, Environmental engineering.
    This Prize is awarded without any requirements regarding nationality, to a scientist working in France, or elsewhere in Europe in close collaboration with French teams, and whose research has led to the emergence of innovations and disruptive approaches, and contributed to partner-based research with companies.

  • The IMT – Académie des Sciences Young Scientist Prize of 15,000 euros.
    This annual Prize, established by IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) in partnership with Fondation Télécom, is intended to reward a scientist who is under 40 years old on January 1st of the year of the prize (this limit may be extended by one year per child), who has contributed to one of the following fields through a major innovation: Sciences and technologies of the digital transformation in industry, Sciences and technologies of the energy transition, Environmental engineering.
    The IMT – Académie des Sciences Young Scientist Prize is awarded without any requirements regarding nationality, to a scientist working in France, or elsewhere in Europe in close collaboration with French teams, and whose research has led to the emergence of innovations and disruptive approaches, and contributed to partner-based research with companies.
